Fish Report 9/26/22
Opening tomorrow(!) Tuesday 9/27/22
A Great Day of Reef Maintenance
IF YOU BOOK, LEAVE YOUR BEST POSSIBLE CONTACT NUMBER & LISTEN TO YOUR MESSAGES!
Anna might be slammed when I hit send. Maybe! Mighty short notice on this one! If she cannot pick up, Leave her a message. She has a method to her madness.. Reservations at 443-235-5577 - She's a one person operation & has other jobs too. The line closes at 8pm and reopens at 8am.
Weather Cancellations Happen - I Make Every Attempt To Let Clients Sleep In If The Weather's Not Going Our Way.
Nearshore mahi over, I suspect. Returning to my roots!
Looks as though we can sneak trips Tuesday (New) & Wednesday (Wednesday was previously announced & already sold out) Sept 27 & 28 - 6:30* to 4:30 - $200.00 - 18 Sells Out - Targeting Sea Bass & Fluke/Summer Flounder..
*Be a half hour early! We always leave early
..except when someone shows up right on time.
Clients arriving late will see the west end of an east-bound boat. Seriously, with a limited number of reserved spots, I do not refund because you overslept or had a flat.. If you're reserved and the last person we're waiting on - you'll need to answer your phone. I will not make on time clients wait past scheduled departure because of a misfortune on your part.
Try to always leave a half hour early (and never an hour early!) I rarely get in on time either. If you have a worrier at home, please advise them I often come home late. It's what I do.
Trips Also Sometimes Announced on Facebook at Morning Star Fishing
https://www.facebook.com/ocfishing/
I post after action reports (or lack thereof) (and sometimes detailed thoughts on fisheries issues) for every trip on my personal FB page and Morning Star page..
Bait is provided on all trips.
No Galley. Bring Your Own Food & Beverage.
If You Won't Measure & Count Your Fish, The State Will Provide A Man With A Gun To Do It For You. We Measure & Count — ALWAYS — No Exceptions!
It's Simple To Prevent Motion Sickness, Difficult To Cure. Bonine seems best because it's non-drowsy. Truly cheap & effective insurance.
Honestly - If you get to go on the ocean once a month, once a year or even less; why risk chumming all day? Similarly, if you howl at the moon all night, chances are good you'll howl into a bucket all day.
Bring A Cooler With Ice For Your Fish – A 48 Quart Cooler Is Fine For A Few People. Do Not Bring A Very Large Cooler. We have a few loaners - you'll still need ice. Should you catch some monstrous fish, we'll be able to ice it.
No Galley! Bring Food & Beverages To Suit. A few beers in cans is fine for the ride home.
Wishbone doesn't replace backbone.. Have to keep a shoulder into reef building to make it happen.

Greetings All,
Well Rats! I sure called that one wrong. Left the dock Saturday thinking we'd encounter a 13 second period or better hurricane swell. Instead it was maybe 5 seconds? 6? A cross heave at that. And 'diminishing' NW winds were N and increasing as the sun came up.
So, yeah, No.
Turned around. Refunded all fares and the pool.
Retreat!
I try hard to spare clients that mess. Didn't work that time..
In reef news..
Many Thanks to John, Mike & Scott who showed up Friday, 9/23/22 to help straighten up the block yard after a busy summer. In 2 runs using three trucks and a trailer we moved just over 100 pallets that had been full of reef blocks to Gunsmoke Shooting Range in Willards. The range uses em to staple targets to. They don't last terribly long. Have splintered many pallets to pieces myself there. After they're blown out they make a splendid bonfire.
We also began cutting up concrete fence posts to make boat deployable units. Shew.. Lot of cutting! But after that? A different 'pyramid unit' - stick built - smaller - that we can build on our block ramp, a great piece of small boat deployable structure.
We also collected 9 pyramid molds and assembled them at a job site in Ocean Pines for excess cement..
General cleanup, lots of pallets gone—all of em, molds assembled, & prepped for a new way of building stick pyramids with concrete & cable..
Great Day!
Now for some great, (calm please!) fall weather.. (and isn't that a wish…)
Cheers
Monty
