Fish Report 8/29/20

Fish Report 8/29/20
An Apology..

Greetings All,
My sincerest apology to those of you awaiting mahi trip announcements. My reservation service of 18 years has opened trips I did not authorize. I'm not going to unglue a bunch of reservations because they didn't have my say-so.
It was my intent to hold off on opening mahi trips Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday September 1, 2, & 3 until forecasts firmed - I had no idea those mahi trips were being sold and are almost full.
Looks as though our waters won't be overly impacted by weather owing this weekend's storm, or in the coming period. I believe mahi will remain nearshore.
I'd also intended to open various trips out past Sept 7th, the last day I have posted.
Turns out they're a bit ahead of me on that too. They've booked me out to the 13th, including weekdays, for sea bass trips.
Well, I sure know how to make cbass happen. We'll get it done!
Emailing me to reserve will backfire big time. I don't have the book, they do. Call the service at 410.520.2076 - It's a 24/7 operation. Facebook messenger is even worse! I don't have it on my phone - just my old desktop.
Want to know what spots, if any, are open on any given trip? Call em.

Certainly has been an unusual year. At least this eruption of nearshore mahi & the best cbassing since 2003 are good things!
Have spots open for cbass Monday 8/31. Been seeing a few mahi nearly every day and we're STILL catching some limits of sea bass on most of my cbass targeted trips. Honestly — I've not seen summer sea bass this good since 2003..
Will open past September 13soon.
I fish year round - even in January & February.  We're going! Just have to sort out this mahi bite and booking issue as weather firms.
If you are considering a reservation but are unfamiliar with my operation see below.
Here's to calm seas!
Cheers!

General Info For My Boat..
As I've done all trips since this Covid mess began, there's a "No Refund/Reschedule Only" policy in the event of foul weather, engine breakdown, or .guv closure. With Covid restrictions in place, my minimized cash flow cannot handle a string of refund days. If the guvmint shuts us completely—we'll eventually reopen. If I cancel - Y'all know I'm good for a trip another day.
If you have a reschedule on the book you're welcome to book any spot that's open on any day.
If you miss the boat however, You've Missed The Boat! No refund or reschedule of any sort for a missed trip.

IF YOU BOOK LEAVE YOUR BEST POSSIBLE CONTACT NUMBER & LISTEN TO YOUR MESSAGES -
Weather Cancellations Happen - I Make Every Attempt To Let Clients Sleep In If The Weather's Not Going Our Way..
COVID Regs Trips Are NonRefundable! Reschedule in event of bad weather? Of Course! But no refunds.. If you can't abide a reschedule - don't book!

Sea bass size limit 12.5 inches - 15 sea bass per person.
Mahi have no size limit and a 10 per-person creel/bag limit.

If at the rail, no mask required. Passengers are well spaced in fresh salt air. If in the passenger salon - Mask Required. If you refuse a mask, BYO life jacket! (but seriously, not only do I not want anyone taking ill -- If one Partyboat anywhere sparks an outbreak we'll ALL get shut down again. With many states at new highs, it's anyone's guess.. Regardless DelMarVa's decline in corona, we must remain carefull!)

Sailing Daily (as weather allows!) out to Sept 13thq - NonRefundable Saturdays 6:30 to 3:30 at $155.00 — NonRefundable Weekdays & Sundays 7 to 3 at $135 - Boat sells out with 18 clients spaced out more than usual until the "All Clear" is given (plenty unlikely!) That's 4 across the stern with 7 clients going up the rails port/stb on a 55' boat..

Be a half hour early! We always leave early!
..except when someone shows up right on time.
Clients arriving late will see the west end of an east-bound boat.
With a limited number of reserved spots, I do not refund because you
overslept or had a flat. No Refund or Reschedule for a missed trip!

Trips Also Announced on Facebook at Morning Star Fishing
https://www.facebook.com/ocfishing/ & my personal FB page along with after action (or lack thereof) reports..

Bait is provided on all trips.

If You Won't Measure & Count Your Fish, The State Will Provide A Man With A Gun To Do It For You. We Measure & Count — ALWAYS — No Exceptions!

It's Simple To Prevent Motion Sickness, Difficult To Cure. Bonine
seems best because it's non-drowsy. Truly cheap & effective insurance.
Honestly - If you get to go on the ocean once month, once a year, or
even less; why risk chumming all day? Similarly, if you howl at the
moon all night, chances are good you'll howl into a bucket all day.

Bring A Cooler With Ice For Your Fish – A 48 Quart Cooler Is Fine For
Two People. Do Not Bring A Very Large Cooler. We DO have a few
loaners - you'll still need ice.
No Galley! Bring Food & Beverages To Suit. A few beers in cans is fine for the ride home.

Wishbone doesn't replace backbone.. Have to keep a shoulder into reef building to make it happen.
